It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Thomas Goodman, who passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones at his home in Zephyrhills, Florida.
Born on April 1, 1955, in Malone, New York, Tom was the beloved son of the late Howard and Anita Goodman. Tom is survived by his devoted wife, Brenda Lee Goodman. He was a loving stepfather and grandfather and is survived by his stepson, Christopher Pond of Asheville, North Carolina; his stepdaughter, Ashley Ronan, and her husband, Timothy Ronan, of Signal Mountain, Tennessee; and his cherished grandchildren, Lily and Violet Ronan. He is also survived by his brothers, Daniel Goodman and his wife Mary Goodman of Malone, New York, and Timothy Goodman and his wife Karen Goodman of Geneva, New York, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Terry, who passed away in infancy.
Tom was a 1973 graduate of Franklin Academy in Malone, New York. After graduation he traveled west. He loved telling stories of good times and adventures in Colorado and working at Shakey’s Pizza Shop. He returned to Malone and had various jobs over the years. He spent 25 years working for New York State Corrections, retiring in 2009.
From an early age, Tom loved motorcycles. He owned many throughout his life, his favorite being his Honda Gold Wing. He also loved spending time in his garage working on various projects. He was particularly proud of his restoration of a 1959 Montgomery Ward motorboat, which he named Ol’ Dollar. Tom, his wife, and family enjoyed many happy times riding on the lakes of upstate New York.
Since 2017 Tom and Brenda have divided their time between Malone, NY and Zephyrhills, FL, avoiding the harsh winters of New York. Tom was a member of AMVETS Post 550 in Zephyrhills, Florida, where he enjoyed spending time with friends and e-bowling.
Tom was an ever present source of support for family and friends and was admired for his honesty and open mindedness. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
