Thomas's obituary
Mr. Thomas Finch, 78, passed away on August 8, 2025, in Huntsville, Alabama after a short lived battle with cancer. Born on May 26, 1947, in Clare, Michigan, Thomas lived a life marked by dedication to his country, his work, and most importantly, his family.
A proud military veteran, Mr. Finch served over 25 years in the United States Army, including active duty during the Vietnam War. His long and honorable military career reflected his deep sense of duty and patriotism. After retiring from the armed forces, he continued his legacy of hard work by dedicating more than three decades to Chrysler, where his reliability and strong work ethic left a lasting impression.
Thomas shared 58 devoted years of marriage with his beloved wife Shirley, who remains to cherish his memory. Together they raised four children: Thomas, Kathy, Christopher, and Adam. His legacy continues through his grandchildren—Thomas, Daniel, David, Ellie, Archer, and Hemi—who brought him immense pride and joy.
Thomas was known for his humor and friendly nature. He had a strong presence that made others feel secure and valued. An avid sports fan, he found joy in the camaraderie of the game and the thrill of competition.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia and George Finch; and his brothers Vick, George, and Rick.
May the memory of Mr. Thomas Finch bring comfort to all who knew him. A Memorial Service will be held on August 16, 2025 at 3:00 PM preceded by visitation at 2:30 PM. This will take place at Trinity Baptist Church 1088 Hughes Rd, Madison, Al 35758 with a small reception to follow. Thomas will have a plot at a National Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
In Lieu of flowers, the family asks to donate to Clearview Cancer Institute for cancer research.
