The most compassionate heart of hearts stopped on May 28th, 2023, when Thomas (TJ) Cahill (Raleigh, North Carolina) lost his fight with cancer. Born in Austin, Texas, Tommy spent his youth in East Texas and was a graduate of the University of Texas.

Following graduation, he moved to North Carolina, where he worked as an IT specialist in the Triangle for the last 25 years. Tommy was a voracious reader, an accomplished photographer, and a lifelong Houston Astros fan.

Tommy was extremely kind and loving, and those who had the opportunity to meet him were richer for it. His tenderness and charity affected anyone who knew him. His love was boundless. Even in death, he chose to donate his body to the Duke University Cancer Institute with the hope of helping one more soul.

He is preceded in death by his father Thomas Cahill, Sr and is survived by his Mother Sally Smith; Stepmother Lori Cahill: and siblings Stacey, James, Marc, and Stephen.
