Thomas's obituary
February 28, 1951 – August 22, 2025
Thomas “Tom” Michael Bidegary, 74, of Reno, Nevada, passed away of natural causes.
Born in Hollister, California on February 28, 1951, Tom was the son of James Bidegary and Mary Ann Shannon (Klaumann). He is preceded in death by his father, James, and his brother, Robert Bidegary. He is survived by his mother, Mary Ann, sister, Virginia Glossa and his children—Seth Bidegary, Adam Bidegary, and Tamra Bidegary—and seven beloved grandchildren.
Tom graduated Bellarmine College Preparatory and later graduated from the University of San Francisco with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. A remarkable athlete, Tom held records in football, baseball, and basketball, driven by a competitive spirit and determination that carried into every part of his life.
Following graduation, Tom served as a Federal Agent before founding his own accounting firm. He was an accountant for nearly 50 years. His passion for taxes and business was matched only by his love of building. Over the years, Tom built homes, opened a grocery store in Paradise Valley, a bar in Winnemucca and established tax offices in both Winnemucca and Reno. He was known not only for his work ethic but also for his generosity, always eager to help his clients, friends and those less fortunate.
Though a man of many talents, Tom was at heart a cowboy. Having grown up on ranches in Hollister and Northern Nevada, he cherished the wide-open landscapes, time spent with family, and the thrill of hunting big game with his relatives and friends. He took great pride in his Reno mountain home, where he enjoyed breathtaking views and the peace of the outdoors.
Tom’s life was defined by hard work, big dreams, and a love for family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The funeral will be a private ceremony with only close family members at a later date. We appreciate your condolences and prayers during this time.
May he rest in peace.
