Therese's obituary
Therese Rose Todd, 92, passed away due to complications from a stroke on May 30, 2022 at Bright Eyes Retirement Home in Northridge, California. She will always be remembered for her kind, loving, generous and caring spirit. No matter who you were, she had time for you.
She was born on January 17, 1930 in Yuma, Arizona. She graduated from high school in Yuma, and then the family moved to Pomona, California so that they would be closer to colleges. She attended Immaculate Heart College in Hollywood and Queen of Angels Nursing School in Los Angeles where she graduated as an RN. She worked as a nurse for Children's Hospital in Los Angeles.
She married Francis DeSales "Deets" Todd on May 10, 1952 in Pomona. They settled in Santa Monica. Both Therese and Deets wanted a large family. They were unable to have their own, so over 11 years, they adopted 5 children as babies who they loved very much. The family went on camping trips with her sister's families and "the cousins".
Therese loved tennis and bicycling. She was involved with the Boy/Girl Scouts and annual trips to Disneyland. Thrift stores were her bag. She had a love for music and played the piano, saxophone and accordion. Her beloved Deets passed 7/5/1998. Therese and Deets were Oblates at the Abbey in Valyermo, California for many years.
Therese is survived by her children: Greg Todd (Diane), Karen Todd, Mike Todd (Laurie), Matt Todd (Mayra) and Teri Nicolosi. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Christina Todd, Matthew Todd II, Dominic Nicolosi, Brooklyn Cameron (Owen) and great-grandson Miles Cameron.
