Theresa Kay Turner, age 62, passed away in the comfort of family in her daughter’s home on January 2, 2020. Born March 5, 1957 in Lansing, Michigan to Betty and John Howe, she is survived by siblings Tammy, Tina, Jeannette, Christine and Terry, as well as 4 children, 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and many other family and friends.
Theresa was first married to David Heeg after graduating from Perry High School. She met her true love, Stephen Turner, in 1985 and soon after moved to Marion, Michigan. They later married in Las Vegas, Nevada and shared 37 years of love. She was a devoted and proud Mommy to Amy (Andrew), Sara (Rob), Connie (Ryan), and Sasha; Nana to grandchildren Salem, Aubree, Jayden, Kyleigh, Kayela, Austin, Ellieanna, Ainsley, Ashlyn, and Johnny and great grandchildren Zyliss, Logan, and two on the way. Theresa’s compassionate soul afforded her the love and dedication of her family, friends, and adoptees. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by all.
Theresa’s greatest love was her family. She also loved her fur-babies, jewelry, to paint anything (especially “eye-candy”), garden, laugh, watch sprint car races, and was a collector of hoodies, antiques, roosters and lizards. Her family and friends are proud that she never allowed her disease to control her life and positive attitude. She continued to do the things she loved until she could no longer (but never did give up pickles and hot sauce!). She remained determined that the disease would not win, even leading up to weeks of her passing. She was grateful to spend her last few weeks with her family and close friends.
In lieu of funeral services, the family will host a memorial in the spring. Details will be announced at a later date. All that knew Theresa are welcome. Memorial contributions are greatly appreciated and can be given on this site or sent in Theresa’s name to 4885 West Locke Road, Perry MI 48872.
