Theresa's obituary
In loving memory of Theresa Marie Sapp
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Theresa Marie Sapp, a beloved amazing mother, devoted wife, and cherished friend, who left this world on September 23, 2024, in Parker, Co. Theresa’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, strength, and resilience, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.
Born on March 2, 1974, in Thornton, Colorado, to her loving parents, Andrea Hernandez and Ray Ruiz, Theresa grew up among a large group of siblings, cousins, family, and friends, that accompanied her on every adventure and provided her with cherished memories she carried with her throughout her life. Theresa graduated from Greeley Central high school in 1993. She married Dave, in 2008, in Denver, and together they created a warm and loving home filled with laughter and cherished memories.
As a devoted mother to her four wonderful children—Michael in 1999, Jordyn in 2004, Hailey in 2010, and David in 2011 —Theresa's love knew no bounds. Though recently separated from Dave, the love they shared and the memories they built together will forever be a part of their family’s story, “all because two people fell in love…” She inspired her kids to embrace life fully, teaching them the values of kindness, joy, and resilience. Her legacy will forever live on in each of them.
Theresa had a love for all things wonderfully-weird, she found the beauty in all things. She loved playing bingo and trivia, going to concerts with her jojo, shopping, and spending time in her backyard sanctuary admiring the squirrels, waiting for the day one would follow her inside the house.
Theresa’s passion for her work was a cornerstone of her life. She held many roles, most recently working at the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office and the Colorado Department of Treasury. No matter where she was, she created a welcoming atmosphere that made every workplace feel like home. Her colleagues adored her; her radiant smile could light up any room, and her warmth and kindness made a lasting impression on all who crossed her path.
A true animal lover, Theresa filled her home with joy from her beloved pets: her loyal dog, Peyton, and her affectionate cats, Luna and Meatball. She had a special fondness for owls, cows, and especially squirrels, ensuring all the neighborhood squirrels were named, well-fed and happy. Her joy in nurturing these creatures mirrored her nurturing spirit for everyone in her life.
Now, Theresa joins her late French bulldog, Bella, along with her cousin Josephine and her Grandma Patty, as well as many other loved ones who welcomed her with open arms. They will shower her with hugs and kisses until the day we can be together again.
We honor the extraordinary life of Theresa Marie Sapp—a cherished soul, a loving mother, and a friend whose spirit will forever shine in our hearts. May her legacy of love, joy, and compassion continue to inspire all who knew her.
