Theresa V Chancholo Obituary

January 7, 1926 - June 22, 2024

Theresa V. (Small) Chancholo, 98, of Dorchester, MA. passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 22, 2024 in Abington, MA.

Two months prior, her oldest daughter, Elizabeth lost her battle with cancer. Theresa was terribly grief stricken with the loss.

Theresa was married to the late Frank Chancholo who passed away on March 20, 2009. They were married for almost 60 years. In all the years they were married, surprisingly they only had one fight, which continued up until the day Dad died. (That's our Dad's joke)

Theresa enjoyed cooking and baking, was very good at it and made the most delicious cookies, however, there was one mac n cheese casserole that never made it to the table. We laughed about that for years. She also loved to teach cooking and became involved with Girl Scouts to do so. She loved to read ALL types of books and was a master at crosswords and cryptograms. She was also an amazing sketch artist! She loved to write poetry. She enjoyed the Hallmark channel, movies with Paul Green and reruns of old shows but a favorite show from more recent years was The Bachelor. Anytime we called, she would give an update of what happened on this week's show. Two hours later....🙂

Theresa was quite the conversationalist and shared many stories about the past. She loved her feline friend, Spooky. When she moved to Abington on June 22, 2022, where her son, Frank and daughter-in-law, Francine, cared for her, she made a new canine friend, Luka.

As young children, our mom was always there for us. She loved and was proud of all her children. She stated this over and over week's prior to her passing. She always ended our phonecall with "I love you."

Theresa leaves behind her son Frank and daughter-in-law, Francine of Abington, her daughter, Kathleen and son-in-law Glen of North Reading, her son Robert and daughter-in-law, Beverly of Hull and Elizabeth's husband Ivan Jose of Nashua. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth Takacs and late husband Theodore Takacs.

Theresa also leaves behind her grandchildren: Jaclyn, Jeffrey, Angela, Nick, Julie, Alexandra, Scot, Richard and Erika; and leaves behind her great grandchildren: Taylor, Keagan, Kaleigh, Chris, Cassie, Charlotte, Kyleigh, Raelynn and one on the way...

There will be a Celebration of Life for family and close friends only, to be announced sometime towards the end of summer 2024.
