Theodore's obituary

Theodore ‘Ted’ James Walkey II, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, peacefully passed away on July 4th 2023 in Florida.

Born on April 27, 1944, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Ted grew up in a loving family alongside his parents, Theodore and Esther Walkey. He was the beloved husband of Virginia Gonzals Walkey, and they were united in marriage in Pocasset, Massachusetts in 1964.

Ted pursued his education and graduated from Lowell Technological Institute. He embarked on a distinguished career in the United States Air Force, serving as a B52 Navigator from 1967 to 1993. With his dedication and expertise, he retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. After retiring from the Air Force, Ted and Virginia relocated to Hawaii, where he worked as the Vice President of Hawaiiana Property Management Company until his second retirement in 2013.

Throughout his life, Ted had a variety of passions and interests. He found great joy in coaching swim teams, exploring the depths of the ocean through scuba diving in Guam and Hawaii, immersing himself in the pages of books as an avid reader, sailing on calm waters of Cape Cod, and spending time with his beloved dogs. His canine companion, Kona, held a special place in his heart.

Ted leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his loving wife of , Virginia Walkey of Melbourne, Florida; his son, Theodore James Walkey III; his daughter, Kelley Miller; his daughter, Wendy Tougher; and his son, Sean Walkey. Additionally, he is survived by eleven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, as well as four cherished dogs - Kona, Sally, Lucky, and Patsy.

Ted will forever be remembered for his kind heart, adventurous spirit, and unwavering love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
