Theodore's obituary

Theodore Emmett Pope, son of Douglas Emmett Pope and Jane Keck Pope, died at Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore MD on November 18, 2021 after a long illness. 

Born in Louisville, KY on May 3, 1954, Ted served 17 years in the United States Army, leaving at the rank of Master Sergeant (E8). He subsequently worked for Johns Hopkins until 2014, retiring after developing Alzheimer's. 

Ted is survived by his son, Richard Lindsey Pope of Brooklyn MD; and his siblings: Jim Pope, Tom (Carleen) Pope, Ben (Johanna) Pope, and Becky (Jim) Norris of Louisville KY; and Gary (Pat) Pope of Cincinnati OH. 

A military honors burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Baltimore National Cemetery at 5501 Frederick Avenue, Catonsville MD 21228.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Owl Moon Raptor Center (owlmoon.org) or Cure Alzheimer's Fund (curealz.org).  

For those able to attend in person, a memorial gathering luncheon will be held at Jennings Cafe, 808 Frederick Road, Catonsville, MD 21228.  Please join the family in celebrating Ted's life and remembrance of good times.
