Theodore's obituary
Ted was born to Mike and Mary Jukich in Duluth, MN, on November 21, 1937, and was the second to youngest of 9 siblings. An all-around sporty guy, he excelled at basketball, track, baseball, football, and even became a semi-pro golfer. After high school, Ted joined the US Air Force, and eventually made his way from Minnesota to Southern California, where he made a career in the hotel/bar business and met the love of his life, Barbara.
Ted’s greatest pleasures in life were spending time with his children and grandchildren, a good glass of wine, watching movies and sports, attending a Padres game, reading a good book, golfing, and making up random, yet often repeated phrases, such as “friedescorn the catistrand” and “provocative, well seasoned”.
Ted is survived by his wife of nearly 52 years, Barbara; his children, Amanda (husband Matt), Matthew (wife Jewelie) and Stephanie (husband Kris); his grandchildren, Jakob, Lucas, Hudson and Scarlett; and many beloved nieces and nephews. His ashes were interred at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego, CA, on August 26, 2021 in a private ceremony.
