Theodora's obituary
Theodora Fortenberry Rolland was born Wednesday, December 8, 1954 to the late Rosezetter and Melvin Fortenberry in Oak Ridge, Louisiana.
She was honored and loved on by her daughters Kaylicia and Phylicia Rolland during her time at Baylor Scott and White in Temple, Texas and she passed peacefully on February 21, 2023 at the age of 68 with her daughter Kaylicia by her side. She will be reunited with her late husband, Billy Ray Rolland, who preceded her in death in 2014, after being married for over 30 years.
Theodora was a devoted mother to her eight children, Larry Rolland of Liberty, MS - sunset March 14, 2023, Kerek Rolland of Killeen, TX, Derek Rolland of Killeen, TX, Zevin Rolland, Levin Rolland of Colorado Springs, CO, Marus Rolland of Florence, SC, Kaylicia Rolland of Killeen, TX, and Phylicia Rolland of Killeen, TX. She cherished her 20 grand children and handful of great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life.
She had a close circle of friends Sister Jennifer, Revered Charles Turner, Ms. Brenda, Her neighbor of 15 years Ms. Diane, and Althea Franklin who was her husband’s sister. Her unwavering love and dedication to her family and friends was a testament to her character, and her memory will forever be cherished by all who knew her.
Theodora was a proud veteran of the US Army, having served for 22 years and retiring with an honorable discharge. Her selflessness and commitment to serving her country were a true inspiration to all who knew her. Her dedication led to 6 of her 8 children to follow in her footsteps and serve their country as well.
A woman of strong faith who accepted Christ early in life and who’s faith never wavered, truly knew God was the foundation of her life and she stood firm on it. She will be remembered for her kind and generous spirit, her infectious laughter, and loyalty. She was a true example of love and devotion, and her legacy will continue to live on through her family and friends.
Rest in peace, Theodora. You will be deeply missed and forever loved.
