Thelma's obituary
Thelma "Evone" Wells, lovingly known as Evone but preferred as Thelma, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025, after a life well-lived. Born on August 8, 1954, her life was a testament to love, compassion, and an unwavering spirit.
Thelma was a beacon of light in the lives of many. Her interactions with people were filled with kindness and respect. She believed in not judging a book by its cover, a lesson she passed on to all who knew her. Her love for her fellow man was so profound that she never met a stranger. If someone was in need, Thelma would be the first to extend a helping hand.
She was a remarkable mother, friend, aunt and grandmother. Her greatest accomplishment, and what she was most proud of, was her family. Her love for her children and family was boundless and she encouraged them to treat others with love and respect, a teaching that will forever resonate in their hearts.
We mourn the loss of Thelma yet celebrate the life she lived. She leaves behind a legacy of generosity, kindness, and love that will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her. Her daughters, Rennee Ardry and Lynn Wells, her sons Daryl Smithson and Derek Smithson are among the many who will keep her memory alive.
Thelma will be greatly missed, but her spirit will live on in the stories shared, the lessons learned, and the love she gave freely. Recognizing Thelma's impact on the lives of others, in lieu of flowers, funds are being raised to assist with the costs associated with her funeral service.
