Thelma "Thel" Regner, 72, of Union City, CA, passed away on July 09, 2024 after a  battle with her health.

Thelma was born on May 7, 1952 in Kinogitan, Misamis Oriental, Mindanao. After graduating from Holy Child High School in 1970, she went on to study Nursing at South Western University and graduated in 1975.

After graduation, she landed her first job as a nurse for TB Pavilion, Cebu City.

In 1978, she met Lorenzo Regner Jr.  Thelma migrated to the US to pursue her dream to work abroad in 1980.  Thelma and Lorenzo Jr. were wed that same year, on December 5, 1980.  The early years of their marriage sustained the challenge of a long distance marriage, even after having two children, Lorelei and Dinah.  Thankfully they would all be reunited together eventually in 1987.  Thelma dedicated her life to being a wonderful wife and mother, while working hard as a nurse for much of her career at Masonic Home in Union City, CA. Once her children were grown, Thelma was blessed to become a grandmother to Donovan, Amador, and Canelo. She took great pride in her family, and spent as much time as she could bonding with them.

She was the glue of her family and always supported them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. Thelma extended her support to her sister, brothers, nieces and nephews by contributing in their times of need or to their education in any way that she could.  She truly made it her mission to improve the lives of others.

She was passionate about cultivating her garden and sharing the fruits of her labor with those she loved.  She was an excellent baker, and when she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found in her church where she attended Latin Mass, or with prayer groups, praying for others. We will miss her immensely. 

She is survived by her loving husband Lorenzo Jr; daughters Lorelei and Dinah; Son in Law Gilberto; grandsons Donovan Jr, Amador, and Canelo; and her siblings Benedicto, Arturo, Linda, and Elias Jr.  Thelma was predeceased by her mother Segundina; father Elias Sr; mother in law Praxedes; father in law Lorenzo Sr; and brothers Ildefonso, and Virgilio. 

Family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to Holy Sepulchre Cemetary on August 15. 

VIEWING & ROSARY

There will be a viewing and rosary on August 15, 2024  from 4pm-8pm at Holy Sepulchre Cemetary,        26320 Mission Blvd, Hayward, CA. 

MASS & BURIAL

On August 16, Thelma Regner's Celebration of Life will take place at St. Thomas More Chapel, 1565 South White Road, San Jose, CA 95127  The Rosary will be at 9am and Mass at 10am. 

(Please wear white attire, and women are asked to wear skirts/dresses below the knee, something to cover shoulders, and a veil on their head.  Men are asked to refrain from wearing shorts.)

Burial will follow the mass at Holy Sepulchre Cemetary, 26320 Mission Blvd, Hayward, CA. (Approximately 12pm)
