Thelma's obituary

Thelma Cavazos Rendon, 90, passed away on May 3rd, 2025, peacefully in her home in Alvarado, Texas.

She was born in Sabinas, Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico on April 13th, 1935, to Eleazar Cavazos and Estella Maria Flores. Growing up spending time on her father’s ranch, she knew how to ride horses by the age of 3. Thelma attended university and received commendations from the President of Mexico for her work and studies in telecommunications in Monterrey, Mexico. She met her husband, Roberto Rendon at a party for the Mexican Consulate and they married on December 5th, 1959, at her mother’s house in Mexico. Roberto’s job in the Mexican Consulate moved them to the United States in 1965, where they stayed and raised their family.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, Eleazar and Estella, Sisters Edna, Elsa and Estella, brothers Eleazar, Horacio and Oscar and is survived by her husband, Roberto Rendon, Brother Hector H. Cavazos, children Thelma King, Carlos Rendon, Mario Rendon and Roberto Rendon, 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Greenbriar Baptist Church in  Alvarado Texas at 2:00pm
