Thang's obituary
Thang Van Nguyen was born on January 3, 1968, in Cát Lở Vũng Tàu, Vietnam, a bustling fishing village where he was surrounded by many immediate and extended family members. He diligently attended school along with his two younger brothers at a seminary, a place where he built his Catholic faith. Surviving the Vietnam War along with his family, he was raised in the United States for most of his formative years in Roswell, New Mexico. He then went on to attend Arizona State University only then to support his immediate family. After college, he was employed by United Airlines in South San Francisco, California, as an aviation mechanic, and worked on aircrafts for 37 years. He found the love of his life, Tam Thanh Nguyen, and had three children (Jennifer, Jonathon, and Joseph). The family resides in San Jose, California. All through his adulthood, he was the epitome of persistence, strength, resilience, and humility. He loved spending time and celebrating special occasions with family and friends, taking peaceful drives, cooking and sharing a good meal with loved ones, making and enjoying sweet desserts, having a restful afternoon nap, and most of all lending a helping hand or ear to others in need.
Beyond any measure, he was our beloved husband, father, son, uncle, nephew, cousin, eldest brother and grandson. His deep sense of love for his family will forever be remembered and he will remain indelible in our hearts. He was surrounded by his loved ones in his last days on Earth and on February 22, 2026, when he peacefully passed away, as a child of God, joining his family in Heaven to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his loving wife, Tam Thanh Nguyen, and children Jennifer Thanh Nguyen, Jonathon Van Nguyen, and Joseph Van Nguyen of San Jose, CA.
