Tess Elise Smith, 23, of Providence, RI, passed away on January 07, 2021 after a hard battle with heart failure.

Tess was born on February 11th 1997 to Laura Toscano and Joe Smith in Newport, Rhode Island. She had hopes of beginning at New England Institute of Technology for mechanics this January.

She loved to drive around and listen to EDM and Hip-Hop. She also loved her dog, Gemma. She always had positive words about those around her and was a shoulder to cry on. She loved cosmetology, always doing her hair and wanted to look her best. She was an advocate for LGBT rights, especially for her sister and step-daughter. She could always be found wearing rainbow apparel.

Although Tess was an only child and didn't have many biological family members, she is survived by the large family she created on her own, she is survived by her mother, Laura Toscano, Mother figure Lori Sanchez, stepdaughter Jada Zarokostas, Jordan Zarokostas, Parental figures Cyndi Soares & Scott Rose and their daughter Adriana and their son, Antonio, as well Kay Desrosiers and her children that were like brothers and sisters to Tess: Chrystal, Kaytlyn, and Brandon.
