Teryn was a close friend and …
2025
Teryn was a close friend and colleague during our four years of overlap at Loyola. Teryn was one of the first advisors I worked with when we taught the first seminar together, and every shared moment in our classes I could see why their advisees loved them. I could see why their coworkers loved them. I knew why queer and disabled students found safety in their office. But what I loved most about them was not just how big their heart was for every single student, but how much knowledge Teryn held in their mind. They always knew so much about life and this world, and was always eager to share it with others. Teryn always believed in building a better place for humans regardless of who they were and where they came from. Teryn always loved supporting trivia at the office or at my bars, and more so, always knew so much wisdom and insight to share with their students, friends, and loved ones. I’m lucky to have shared positive memories with Teryn outside the office. We don’t share many documented photos, but I know Teryn is resting in power, and resting with so much love and knowledge. Anne and Simon, I’m grateful for how Teryn came into my life. My deepest love and condolences are with you all now.
Teryn was a vibrant soul in the FSYA office. She cared deeply for her students and the staff at Loyola. I’m so sorry for your loss.
We are so very sorry for your profound loss. While we never met Teryn, we are a fellow family from Simon’s school. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I am so sorry for your loss. Teryn was truly someone special.

I honestly don't have the words to express what an incredible person Teryn was. She had this radiant goodness about her...so thoughtful, present, caring, and kind. She could match my sarcasm with wit that made me laugh every time, and she saw me in a way that felt rare and precious.  She was an advocate in the truest sense, always showing up for others, someone who believer every person mattered. I will always be grateful for the way she saw me and for the compassion she shared so freely. She was just an extraordinary friend, and I'm going to miss her so much.

I know my loss is nothing compared to yours. You've lost someone irreplaceable—a beloved wife, mother, daughter, and sister whose light touched so many. Please know that her impact on this world was SO profound, and she will be deeply missed.

With deep sorrow and sympathy,

Ola Kapustka
