Terry's obituary
Terry was born on September 6, 1943 to Leighton and Gladys Pratt in Palo Alto, California. After beginning his studies at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, he served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He resumed his studies and earned his bachelor's degree in physics in 1975.
After graduation, he began his career in electrical engineering, where he enjoyed solving unique technical problems for over fifty years. He is listed as an inventor on seven patents. In his spare time, he was a theoretical particle physicist and self-published the book "Charge Model Expansion of the Standard Model of Physics.” He was also an avid Ham radio enthusiast and loved garden railroads. He enjoyed singing bass in the choir and engaging in Men’s Bible study at Advent Lutheran Church, where he was always ready to lend a hand. Advent Lutheran church was his spiritual community for over 25 years.
While still in college, he met the love of his life, Elizabeth, and they wed in 1977, going on to have two daughters, Mavis and Samantha. He was an attentive loving father and beloved "Bupa Daddy-O" to his children and four grandchildren, Isaiah, Hadassah, Daeny, and Rafaylie. He was a man of strong faith and convictions, who worked to understand different points of view. He loved to read and share his knowledge. He was greatly loved and greatly loving.
Terry was predeceased by his parents and grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, his daughters, Mavis and Samantha, his younger brother, Greg, and his grandchildren, Isaiah, Hadassah, Daeny, and Rafaylie. He believed death was a transition and not the end. While he is missed, we know this is true. As he was wont to point out, the laws of conservation support that everything continues in some form. He abides in the Almighty.
