Terry's obituary
Terry Wilson was born on January 24, 1954, in Los Angeles, California, to John L. Sr. and Rosa May Wilson. He grew up in San Bernardino, where he attended local schools and graduated from Pacific High School in 1972. After relocating to Inglewood, Terry enrolled at Los Angeles City College, beginning in theater before discovering his true passion for electronics.
In 1975, Terry began his professional journey as a security guard with IBM and joined the sheet metal and electrical engineer union. In 1979, he started a four-year apprenticeship at Ralphs in Glendale. Through dedication and hard work, he rose to become a Chief Operating Engineer, a career he enjoyed for over 30 years before retiring.
In 1980, Terry’s life changed forever. Driving his little red Corvette, he saw a young woman crossing the street heading to class—Meredith, the woman who would become the love of his life. They married three years later and shared a beautiful life built on love, laughter, and partnership.
Terry was a proud sci-fi enthusiast who loved everything from Star Wars to Star Trek. He enjoyed fishing, watching basketball and football, caring for his yard, and spending quiet, meaningful time with his family.
Terry leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Meredith; his daughter Shannon; his sons Ian, Terry Jr., and DeVaughn; his grandchildren Quiani, Deja, Maxwell, and Noelle; and his great-granddaughter Zoey. He is also survived by his siblings John L. Wilson Jr., Brenda Katz, Dr. Shirley Moore, and Lana Wilson-Combs, along with his nieces Kim, Kelly, and Carla
Terry will be remembered for his warm heart, steady presence, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy lives on in all who knew and loved him.
