Terry Dean Ratliff, age 80, passed away on March 10, 2026 in Rutherfordton NC. Terry was born on August 7, 1945, in Elkhorn City, Kentucky, the oldest child of Bobby and Elvie Ratliff.

Terry was known for his warm heart, his kindness, and his unforgettable storytelling. He loved talking with people and had a way of turning everyday moments into entertaining stories and tall tales that made those around him laugh. He enjoyed connecting with others and was the kind of person who could strike up a conversation with anyone.

Terry spent 30 years working as a truck driver, a career that suited his independent spirit and love of the open road. After retiring, he moved out west where he enjoyed the next chapter of his life.

Terry was a devoted father who adopted both of his children and loved them deeply throughout his life. Family meant everything to him, and he was always willing to help whenever he could.

He is survived by his wife, Marian Ruth Ramey; his daughter, Ginny Fulwider (Ratliff); and his grandchildren, Anthony Beamon, Chance Kowalski (Alex), Avery Beamon, Kearsten Ratliff, Kayla Ratliff, and Haeden Ratliff. He is also survived by his siblings Gary Ratliff (Eunice), Randy Ratliff (Sue), Roberta "Susie" Ratliff, Sonja Romberg, and Jack Ratliff, along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Ratliff, who passed on July 24, 2023, as well as his parents, Bobby and Elvie Ratliff.

Terry will be remembered for his kindness, his stories, and the joy he brought to those around him. His laughter and the many memories he created will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
