Terry's obituary
Terry R Sheler was born in Grand Rapids, MI on a Sunday morning, May 15, 1949 to Robert and Florence Sheler. He rendered this world Friday evening, October 18, 2024; surrounded by family in his final hours under Hospice care. He fought a hard and short battle with small cell stomach cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Linda of 47 years, twin brother and best friend Jerry (2008), a nephew Tom Reeder and niece Rhonda Alkema. He is survived by his only child, Dawn Marie Sheler-Buell (Jerry), grandchildren: Jerry (Lauren) Buell and Amy Buell of Ohio; Stephanie Buell of Kalamazoo, MI; Jenny (Josh Lauterbach) Buell and Nathan (Karen Chui) Buell of Plainwell, MI. Great grandchildren: Riley, Max, Kaysen, Grayson, Nash, Blake, Oakland and Priella. Sister in law Char Coffman (David) of Jenison, MI, Nephew Robert (Teresa) Coffman of Wayland, MI, Michele Reeder of Cedar Springs, MI and Scott Alkema of Jenison, Mi . Many other great nieces and nephews. Life long friend and significant other for 10 years; Nancy Sheler of Kentwood, MI . Cremation has taken place thru Ofield Funeral Home of Grand Rapids, MI. A celebration of life is set for Sunday November 17 from 1 pm to 4 pm (casual dress please) at Southwood Village MHP Club House at 440 - 60th st SE , Kentwood, MI where family and friends will gather in remembrance of Terry with coffee, cake, and hors d' oeuvres.
