Terry's obituary

Terry Allen Nagel, 75, passed away on May 27, 2024, after battling a long illness.

Terry was born on May 1,1949, in Granite City, Illinois to the late Clarence Nagel Jr. and Iva Lee Nagel (Warden). Clarence was an Air Force Investigator and Iva was a homemaker. Terry attended Las Vegas High School and after graduating in 1967, entered the United States Air Force, where he served for 20 years.

Terry was stationed in places such as the Country of Turkey and Okinawa, Japan, as well as in other cities in the United States. In 1977, he married Sharon Pratt and together they had 47 years of marriage.

After retiring in 1989, he and his family settled down in Oxford, Connecticut, where he worked as a computer technician. In 2008, Terry and Sharon moved to Northern Virginia where they lived in Warrenton and Bealeton before spending the last 6 years as residents of Mineral, where Terry enjoyed being an Uber driver.

Together Terry and Sharon raised two sons, Mark and Jason. Terry taught them to use computers, fish, and work on cars. Favorite family memories include cross-country trips for sightseeing.

Terry professed his faith in Jesus Christ and was trusting in His finished work on the cross for salvation.

Terry is survived by his wife, Sharon; his sons Mark (wife Nicole), and Jason (wife Juliet); his grandchildren Dominic, Emma, and Adeline; and his sisters, Lisa Geist, Sandra Brenner and Lori Harkins. He will be greatly missed by his family.

Family and friends will gather to memorialize Terry on Saturday, June 8, at 1:00 pm at Glenora Baptist Church, 1389 Zachary Taylor Highway, Mineral, VA 23117. Kevin Baldassari, a family friend, will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
