Terry's obituary
Terry Neville Landon, born Terry Neville Jeter, died peacefully on December 24th, 2023 at the age of 65, surrounded by family. Terry’s parting was due to lung complications that were compounded by his previous lung cancer treatments.

Terry was survived by wife, Tammera Leigh (Carlsen) Landon; children: Kristina (Tevonn) Mitchell, Tanya (Raymond) Cargill, Candice (Richard) Mendez, Mason (Emily) Landon; grandchildren: Destiny Hodges, Jordan Garner, Savannah Evans, Michaela Evans, Dakota Greene, Elijah Mendez, Skylar Landon, McKinley Landon, Sierra Cargill, Ryleigh Landon, Noah Mendez, Aria Mendez, Hudson Landon, Landon Cargill, and Casen Landon; great-grandchildren: Catalaya Collins, Kyson Armstrong, and Paisley Chauvlier; mother, Darlene Anne (Williams) Jeter; and siblings Jimmy (Kathy) Landon, Brock (Vanessa) Martin, Jacqueline Robbins; Teri (Darrel) See, Kathy (Mickey) Jeter, Sherry (Ken) Huston. Terry was also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews, including brother Jeff’s son, Shon (Shayla) Landon, whom he was closest to.
Terry was born May 31st, 1958 in Northridge, California as Terry Neville Jeter. Following the marriage of Terry’s mother Darlene to Rodney Landon, Terry took on the last name of Landon upon entering school and carried it through most of his adult life. Growing up, Terry spent a lot of time with his family on the road, from coast to coast. From California to Washington, to Florida to Arizona and back to the west coast, Terry learned a lot about life starting at a young age. Throughout his youth, and to this day, Terry was lovingly known to friends and family as both Bubba and Burro, likely due to his jovial, yet stubborn nature: qualities that he certainly passed onto his children.
Terry had the good fortune to learn carpentry from his Dad, Rod, and later expanded on that knowledge with experience gained in the construction industry. Terry learned how to read and eventually draw blueprints and later made a career of that as well. Landon & Sons Construction took father and son into business building homes between 1990 and 1995 before Rod and Darlene moved to Alaska and Terry moved onto other opportunities within the industry. Terry often took his children to work with him during the summers, and this may have ultimately influenced the trajectory of their careers, as two of his daughters have built careers in the construction industry as well.
Terry was blessed with children from three marriages: first to Bunny (Hodgkinson) Hallen, welcoming Kristina in 1976 and later to Renee (Flint) Toledo, adding Tanya and Candice in 1982 and 1983. In 1989 Terry moved to Washington, where he later met and married Tami Carlsen in 1994, with Mason following soon after in 1995. Terry and Tami lived in Washington until 2008 when they moved to Texas. Once Mason graduated high school, they moved back to Washington, where they remained until moving to Filer, Idaho in July of 2022 where Terry lived out the remainder of his days.
As a father, Terry could be found coaching Kristina’s softball teams through her youth sports career and was Mason’s biggest football fan. Terry took time to drive to California and pick up Tanya and Candice every summer after his move to Washington and made every effort to provide fun-packed summers full of boating, camping, and beach adventures that they would all cherish for years to come.
Terry made a lasting impact on many people in his lifetime. When remembering Terry, the phrases larger than life, gentle giant, one of a kind, and pure of heart come to mind. He was calm, collected, there to lend an ear - or a hand - and would give the shirt off his back for a stranger. He was the type who would pull over to help a car stranded on the side of the road or park his car to run into the intersection to help get a stalled car to safety. He had an infectious smile, and he truly was a one-of-a-kind soul who will be sorely missed.
Terry will be remembered with a Celebration of Life, scheduled for April 20th, 2024 near his home in Filer, Idaho. More details will be shared with friends and family as the exact location and time are determined.
