Terry Avilla, age 67, passed away on November 10, 2025, his hand held by his sister as he went home to Jesus.

A few years ago, Terry suffered several strokes that left him in need of care. Since then, he had resided with his sister and brother in-law in Washington, surrounded by love and laughter. Terry was a beloved father, grandfather, son, and brother whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents and five of his siblings, and is survived by his children, grandchildren, and his two sisters, and many other cousins, aunts, uncle, neices and nephews.

Terry was known for his stubborn streak, his ornery sense of humor, and his ability to make everyone around him laugh with his quick wit and endless jokes.

In keeping with Terry’s wishes, there will be no memorial service held at this time. He always told his children that when his time came, he wanted to be cremated, his ashes placed in a PBR can, and tossed into Ashley Lake — a wish his daughters will lovingly honor.

Terry’s life was full of laughter, love, a wonderful family, friends and unforgettable moments. Though he is gone, his humor and spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him most.
