Terry's obituary
Terry John Hutchison peacefully passed, leaving behind his legacy of devotion to the final frontier as a Star Trek authority and an avid, self-taught military history expert. His studies inspired his respect for the unflinching fealty of German soldiers during WWII.
A beloved son, brother, and special uncle, Terry overcame insurmountable issues, until he didn’t. His life’s evolution was a struggle that began with his first fight, a fragile beginning with a hole in his heart. Though his heart physically mended, a corresponding void remained in his spirit. He bore his struggles through school and adversities; and he received honor in the ROTC of Sacramento High School where he graduated. He explored the universe with the USS Enterprise as a Star Trekker until he surrendered to his final battle in quiet solitude at UCDMC, Sacramento, CA on November 28, 2021. He was loved more than he knew.
Terry is preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen Hutchison, and is survived by his sisters, Yaleah and Patricia, brother Clint, and his special nephew Robert. He is remembered for his sharp wit and unwavering belief that we should “boldly go where no one has gone before.”
Terry wished to be placed with his mother and grandmother. His starship was not yet ready for him.
A Graveside Service is Friday, November 28, 2025, at 9:00 AM, West Lawn of East Lawn Memorial Park, 4300 Folsom Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95819. The family welcomes gifts and condolences in his memory.
