Terry D. Henderson, 80, of Naperville, IL passed away peacefully in the presence of family and friends on January 29, 2026 - almost a month after the passing of his beloved wife of almost 60 years, Judy. Terry was born in Chicago, IL to Joseph and Wilma Brumleve Henderson. After graduating from Thornridge High School in Dolton, IL, he studied engineering at the Illinois Institute of Technology and later at the University of Illinois in Champaign, where he met his future wife, Judy Chamberlin. Terry worked for his father at Henderson Engineering, eventually assuming the leadership of the company along with his brother Chuck. Terry loved the people he worked with, considering them family.
Terry and Judy doted on their four grandchildren: Julia (Michael) Sullivan, Sarah Hill, Lukas Doherty, and Shalyn Doherty. He loved and was loved by many: his siblings Jolane (Bill) Jenkins and Michael (Rita) Henderson, who predeceased him, and his brother Chuck (Liz) Henderson; his brother- and sister-in law Thomas Chamberlin and Denise (Chuck) Ligler; his many nieces and nephews: Terri (Bob) Smith, Susan Clausen, Doug (Denise) Heise, Katie (Chris) Tabb, Sica Henderson, Joe (Jessie) Henderson, Rachel (Alphonse) Ngom, Mary Kay Griffin, Wendy (Tom) Weber, Heidi (BJ) Simpson, Sarah (Travis) Curry, Lindsay (Josh) Ligler-Winters, and Kate Ligler. He was predeceased by his nephew Mickey Henderson. He and Judy loved their special friends Jerry & Gloria Kennell and George & Verna Schindlbeck.
Terry and Judy loved Jesus, and are with Him now! They attended Grace Church of DuPage, and later Crossway Fox Valley in North Aurora. He and Judy always enjoyed traveling and visiting new as well as familiar places. They often attended shows and performances, especially at The Sight and Sound Theater in Branson, MO.
