Being outdoors with friends, helping students into the oil and gas industry he Ioved, or spending time with his family, Terry Wayne Gilbert. Sr. was a man who loved big and enjoyed life.

Terry was born May 25, 1950, the son of Stephen Joseph Gilbert and Lavada Carter Gilbert. He grew up in Dewar. Oklahoma and was a 1968 graduate of Dewar High School. He attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. Okla.

He married the love of his life. Debra Kaye Gilbert. in I 974. He was so proud of their children. Marisa and Terry Jr. Later, he became Papa to five grandchildren who adored him.

In 1975. Terry began his oil and gas career and enjoyed the industry until retirement in 2020. For over 15 years. he owned and operated Ty-Mar Services, a service company in the oil and gas industry. He was a active member of the American Association of Drilling Engineers, MidCon Chapter and served many roles including treasurer, steering and scholarship committee member. He enjoyed spearheading the annual AADE Bass tournament at Lake Texoma. Proceeds funded scholarships for university student, starting in the oil and gas industry.

He liked to play golf, fish and enjoyed carpentry. but his favorite activity was his family. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Debby; his daughter, Marisa M. Martin and husband, William R. Martin II; his son. Terry W. Gilbert Jr., and wife Tricia Gilbert: and his beloved grandchildren. Haley Martin, William R. Martin Ill. and Rose Martin, Claire and Audrey Gilbert. His brother, Stephen Gilbert II and wife, Joyce Gilbert, niece, Melissa Gilbert and nephew, Stephen Gilbert Ill; and his brother, Jim Gilbert.

The memorial service will be at 2 pm on Friday. January, 19. 2024 at St. Luke's, United Methodist Church, 222 N.W. 15th St. in Oklahoma City. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Terry's name to https://app.associationsphere….
