Terry's obituary
Terry Douglas Fisher entered the Kingdom of Heaven on December 27th, 2024 at 1:00am. He spent a year battling pancreatic cancer and has found his healing in Heaven. We rejoice that Terry is in the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ.
Terry was born to Robert and Millie Fisher on September 15, 1955 in Spokane, Washington. In August of 1975, Terry married his high school sweetheart, Lisa Colson, loving and caring for her even and unto now. He spent his adulthood building a life with Lisa in Olympia, Washington. He worked for a time at AT&T developing his leadership skills before being summoned into his true calling as a pastor. Terry served at The Church of Living Water as the Executive Pastor for 25 years before spending 11 years as the Senior Pastor of Crossroads Foursquare Church in Rochester, Washington. In 2022, Terry and Lisa retired from full time ministry, allowing them to fulfill their dream of serving in the Wildlife Brigade in Grand Teton National Park in the spring and summer and spoiling their grandchildren in the fall and winter.
Terry loved studying scripture, camping, and spending time with his family. Most important of all was his Savior, Jesus Christ. He never missed an opportunity to quote a relevant scripture for any occasion and his every decision was motivated by the desire to see the kingdom of Heaven advanced. Even when battling cancer, Terry used the seemingly hopeless as an opportunity to tell his healthcare team, coworkers, friends, and family about the kindness of God and His love for us. In everything, Terry pointed to Jesus.
Terry is survived by his loving wife Lisa Fisher; his children Ben and Junko Fisher, Rachel and Jason Guddat, and Joseph and Amanda Fisher; his grandchildren Grace, Annabelle, Tessa, Ayu, and Shinya; his sisters Shelley and Dale Warren, Kristi Brown and Lisa Orrell; and many nieces and nephews as well as his beloved mother, Millie and her husband Tom. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert.
A celebration of life will be held in honor of Terry on January 11, 2025 at 2 pm at The Church of Living Water, 1615 Chambers St SE, Olympia, WA 98501. Reception with light refreshment to follow. Come as you are, Terry loved bright colors, so feel free to dress cheerfully. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Awana ministry at Crossroads Foursquare in Rochester, Washington.
