Terry's obituary

Remembering Terry Bishop

Terry Duncan Bishop, a woman of adventure, strength, and unwavering honesty, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025. Born on November 24, 1942, Terry lived her life with an adventurous spirit, fierce independence, and an optimism that never wavered. She was as intellectually curious as she was fun-loving—always ready for the next great book, a deep conversation, or a new experience.

She leaves behind her two children, Lyn and Steve, who will forever carry her love in their hearts, as well as her siblings, Pete, Jim, and Bo. To her friends, colleagues, and family, Terry was a steady presence—loyal, kind, and always ready to offer wisdom with her signature straightforwardness. She had a knack for telling it like it was, but always with warmth, humor, and an open heart.

Terry’s life was a masterclass in reinvention. No matter what challenges came her way, she met them head-on, transforming herself time and again with courage and determination. She never shied away from change; she embraced it, and showed the rest of us how it’s done.

She kept a handful of lifelong friends, some from childhood and others from her early adult years—friendships that stood the test of time, just like she did. Her career in Tucson real estate was built on trust and integrity, and she was well-respected in the field.

Her approach to life was straightforward: embrace each day and care deeply. She had an enduring passion for reading, a keen interest in history, and a deep appreciation for the Arizona desert.

If you’d like to honor Terry, read some history, study the Constitution, or just take a walk at sunrise and listen to the birds. And if you can, scatter some wildflower seeds in her memory—because she would have loved that.

Terry, we’ll miss you beyond words, but we’ll honor you the way you would have wanted: by living boldly, loving deeply, and embracing whatever comes next with open arms.
