Terry Lee Carpenter's Story

1940 - 2026 Age 85

Roanoke, Virginia

Terry Lee Carpenter, 85, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away peacefully of natural causes on May 2, 2026 09:15 am. Born on July 9, 1940, in Watertown, New York, Terry lived a life marked by adventure, resilience, and a deep connection to the natural world.

Terry proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1958 to 1962, embodying the values of discipline and duty that would guide him throughout his life. His service was a testament to his unwavering commitment to others and his strong sense of responsibility.

Known for his adventurous spirit and remarkable ability to handle wildlife, Terry had an innate respect for nature that defined much of who he was. Whether assisting with unwanted animals or sharing captivating stories of his encounters with the outdoors, he left an indelible mark on those who knew him. His courage and confidence were as memorable as the tales he told.

Terry’s legacy lives on through his family: his two sons, Sean and K.C., his daughter, Tara, eleven grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. They will carry forward his memory and the lessons he imparted through his unique life experiences. He was predeceased by his first wife, Dolores Coeville Carpenter Siddon, who passed away in October 2024, and by his second wife, Barbara Isabelle Tickle, who passed away in December 2017.

Terry will be remembered as a hardworking and capable man whose strength and presence enriched the lives of those around him. His stories and spirit will be cherished by family and friends alike.

Loved ones may hold a private remembrance to honor Terry’s life and memory. May his legacy bring comfort to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
