Background
Life is unpredictable. If you had asked me the date my mother would leave this world I would have replied with something in the future. Perhaps something closer to the age of 76. She was never on time for anything, always running late. However, the night of June 2nd blindsided me. Ask anyone who's lost a loved one, I'm just waiting on her to walk into the room. Like some fuzzy dream, it just doesn't seem real.
Anyways, we did not have a life insurance policy, and I am the only child to take this on. The stubbornness and pride of my late father that was ingrained into me makes this request hard. I've never looked for a handout, but I'm at a loss here.
