Terrie L. Buttry (Hammerly), 63, of North Charleston, entered into eternal rest on July 12, 2021, surrounded by her family.
Born on August 23, 1957 in Orange,TX, Terrie was the daughter of Ellen Miriam DeShazo.
Terrie had a huge love for cooking, plants, animals, and children and was known for her servant’s heart. She enjoyed trading stories and never met a stranger anywhere she went. Her favorite place to unwind was the beach and loved fishing along side her son. Sharing a meal with loved ones, talking recipes with her daughter-in-law, and finding new restaurants also brought her lots of joy. She lived her life every day with passion and refused to slow down for any obstacle that was set before her. Terrie was extremely dedicated to her family and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with them.
Terrie was preceded in death by her mother, Ellen DeShazo, and nephew, Tracy Ricketson . She is survived by her son, Dustin Hart (Michelle Hart), step son, Gregg Hart, her siblings, Pamela Koon, Sherrie Strickland, Kyle DeShazo, Dawn Barfield (Ed Barfield), her many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She had so much love for her local and extended family in Texas, Louisiana, and Wisconsin.
The service will be held at McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 12:00 PM with reception to follow at the home of Dustin and Michelle Hart after 2:30PM.
For those who would like to send flowers, please contact McAlister-Smith to make arrangements for their display during the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Terrie`s memory may be sent to Michelle Hart (Contact her for details).
