Terri's obituary
Terri Dean Tedford January 21, 2023 San Carlos California
We are heartbroken with the sudden passing of our beloved Terri. She was a caring , supportive and honest soul. She took business seriously and life casually always with with humor and a grain of salt. She was a loving, devoted daughter, sister , aunt and friend .
She had a memory to rival any hard drive. She was an inspirational planner, always curious to explore places and events . Her navigational skills were always appreciated when on vacation and improved vastly over time with GPS. Terri cared deeply for the world about her and loved to travel.
Passionate about the Giants, Niners and Warriors whatever season- she had the game on.
Her love of dogs was complete devotion.
Quinn, Brandy, Lady, Willie, Biscuit, Scruffy and Teddy were lucky dogs indeed to have her as their mom.
While possessing no culinary skills, she mastered making pan de elote , shrimp dip , Velveetta cheese dip and her famous gin fizzes - staples at any gathering . She was an expert Door Dash commander . While out to dinner, Terri typically was the last to order -waiting to see what everyone else was getting. She was a divine dinner companion .
She was active throughout her life in the San Carlos community. She co-founded After School in 1981 with her dearest friend and sister of heart Diane Meade. Providing decades of loving care and memories to countless children and their families in the community. Employing hundreds of people over the years . Terri was a thoughtful and generous employer.
She loved San Carlos, residing there for over 40 years- Hometown Days, Art & Wine Festivals . Eucalyptus Street lights were all special to her.
She was fascinated with tech , always getting the latest gadget and was humble to ask for help when she was over her head.
She loved extra gravy and bacon . Absolutely hated beets and cooked carrots, took her dressing on the side and preferred a double to a single . Terri indulged yet she was incredibly disciplined around dessert or a box of See's candy .
If you knew her, you loved her . If she loved you, her care was unconditional always comforting, particularly when the world was harsh and cold. If you didn't at least like Terri , perhaps you were the butt of her jokes or she had to deal with you in a practical manner. She was a superb judge of character, if she didn't like you or vice versa , very likely you are a selfish, cruel, self serving, asshole . Terri she was always fair, gave people second and third chances, kind , humble ,generous and cared deeply for her fellow humans .
To those of us that did love Terri , she will remain a gift unparalleled . A once in a lifetime person. We are so very grateful to have had her humor , friendship and love . Her absence will be mourned for the rest of our days without her.
