Terrand's obituary

Terrand Delano Thomas was born on May 22, 1961 in Montgomery, Alabama. He was one of three children of the late Cherry Lane Thomas and the late William Wallace Dowdy. He passed away at his home on July 9, 2023.

After graduating from Carver High School, Terrand enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was stationed at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, North Carolina. He served honorably in the Marines learning life long skills to include leadership training. Terrand later worked in various positions for MBM Corporation eventually being promoted to Supervisor and later retiring after 25 years of working there. Listening to R&B music while grilling outdoors was his favorite past time second only to his love of fishing. During football season, both his friends and family well knew he'd be cheering for Alabama Crimson Tide win or lose. He was reserved yet very giving, humble yet straightforward and will be dearly missed by all that have known and loved him. Reminding us in his final days that it's not a good bye but rather, "We'll see you later."

Terrand is survived by his son Terence Terrand Stewart, two grandchildren: Alaina and Kiley; three sisters: Karen Reed, Robin Thomas, and Jocelyn Dowdy; two nieces: Romera Fortunato (Brandon); Bianca Thomas and one nephew Chase Dowdy; and a host of cousins and dear friends.
