It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Teresita Galolo Villalongja, who died peacefully on Monday, March 10, 2025, at the age of 83. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother cherished by all who knew her.

Known as Tessie by all her friends, she emigrated from the Philippines with her family in 1971 and quickly became a respected figure within the Filipino community in Albuquerque. She was fondly regarded as an auntie (tiya), a mother, or a grandmother to many, known for her warm hospitality and her ability to make newcomers feel welcome.

She is survived by her four children: Cynthia, Alain, Gail, and Janet, and their father Geronimo Villalongja; grandchildren: Brent, Kevin, Alex, and Liah; and great-grandchild, Jackson. Additionally, she leaves behind her siblings in the Philippines, her sister Pablita, her brother Filemon Jr., and her cousin Estrellita, along with six nieces and two nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at Risen Savior Catholic Church on Friday, April 11, 2025. The eulogy will begin at 9:45 am, followed by Mass at 10:00 am and the Committal Service at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, with a reception immediately following at Marian Center Gathering Hall at Risen Savior Catholic Church.

Tessie’s legacy of love and community spirit will be remembered by all whose lives she touched.
