Teresa Lynn Sharp (63) passed away on February 10, 2026 at her home in Dexter, Michigan, surrounded by loved ones. Survived by her daughter Ashley (Patrick Keady), son Jordan, son Zachary (Serena Pham), and granddaughter Grace.

Born Teresa Lynn Jarrell to Edna and Charles Jarrell in Ypsilanti, Michigan, 1962.

Teresa spent her youth having fun with neighborhood friends, playing sports, and visiting her cousins in West Virginia. As she got older, she would cruise the town in her Camaro, feathers hanging from the rearview mirror. She worked at Taco Bell throughout school, which fueled a lifelong love of Chicken Chalupa Supremes.

After graduating from Ypsilanti High School, Teresa earned a scholarship to Eastern Michigan University, where she graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Social Work. Teresa spent the beginning of her career working at a juvenile detention center, and then became a data analyst for Washtenaw County, where she would work until her retirement in 2024.

Throughout her life, Teresa was focused on her top priority- her kids. In her 30’s and 40’s, Teresa bought a house and made it a home. She handled countless practices, appointments, games, swim lessons, meals, and more. All while working full time to fund the life she wanted for her kids. She created the opportunity for all three of her kids to graduate college, a feat that made her incredibly proud.

In 2015, Teresa was diagnosed with cancer. Despite that, she would go on to buy another house and make it a home, take her kids on her dream vacation to Hawaii, see a Broadway show in NYC, and spoil her first grandchild while continuing to spoil her kids.

Teresa spent her final years enjoying the fruits of her labor. Watching TV or a good movie, reading books and magazines (usually with a cat on her lap), and hosting family dinners.

Teresa’s family will be hosting a memorial in her home on Sunday, March 1st from 2-5 pm.
