Teodorico's obituary

Teodorico (“Rico”) Reyes Dino, 81, of Gainesville, VA passed away on October 10th, 2022 surrounded by his immediate family. Rico was born to parents Teodosio Dino and Concepcion Reyes Dino on August 9th, 1941 in Manila, Philippines and was one of nine children. Rico graduated from Letran College with his Associates in Arts degree in 1960 and then received his medical degree from the University of Santo Thomas in 1967. He then met the love of his life, Aida Feleo at V. Luna Medical Center, Armed Forces of the Philippines. Rico was a prominent member of the surgical team of physicians at V-Luna Medical Center, Armed Forces of the Philippines from 1967 until 1971. Rico and Aida married on August 9th, 1971. Soon after they immigrated to the United States where Rico completed his internship at New York Infirmary Hospital and became a Fellow in Medicine at New York University Medical Center, Goldwater Hospital Division in New York City, NY, and later became a part of the Surgical House-Staff at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx. NY. Rico later moved his family to Richlands, VA where he worked as an Emergency Room Physician at Mattie Williams Hospital. He then established private medical practices in Castlewood, VA and Danville, VA. Rico then became board certified in emergency medicine with the Fellow of American College of Emergency Physician (FACEP) and completed his medical career working in the ER of Danville Memorial Hospital until his retirement in 2000.

Rico is preceded in death by his parents Teodosio and Conception Reyes Dino, his five brothers and three sisters. Rico is survived by his wife, Aida, who he celebrated 51 years of marriage this year (2022), and by his three children, eldest son Theodorick (“Thorick”) Dino and wife Melannie Dino of Ashburn,VA, daughter Theresa Golinvaux and husband John Golinvaux of Ashburn, VA, and youngest son Thaddeus Dino and wife Erin Dino of Clearwater, FL. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Camille Golinvaux, Isabelle Dino, Brooklyn Golinvaux, Theodore (“Teddy”) Dino, and Matthew Dino.

Rico loved music, fishing, sports, and was devoted to his religion as an active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Gainesville, VA. After his retirement, Rico enjoyed playing golf, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and traveled the world with Aida visiting over 30 countries and made so many wonderful memories.

There will be a funeral mass held at Holy Trinity Church in Gainesville, Virginia on Friday, October 21, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. in celebration of Rico’s life. After mass, the family will host a reception at Heritage Hunt Golf and Country Club.
