Teodora's obituary

With deep love and sadness in our hearts, we announce the passing of Teodora García González, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, who entered eternal rest in the early hours of the morning on March 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of her children and family.

Teodora was born on September 17, 1946, in Coatlán del Río, Morelos, Mexico, where she was raised with strong values of family, tradition, and faith-values she carried with her throughout her entire life.

At one time in her life, she was married to Melecio Córdova Trujillo, with whom she built a large family. She was the proud mother of twelve children—six sons and six daughters—whom she raised with deep love, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication. Her family was always the center of her world, and through her strength and care she created a legacy that now continues through generations of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Teodora’s life was not always easy. She faced many hardships, yet she remained steadfast with great strength, resilience, and determination. Despite the challenges she endured, she never stopped fighting for her family. Her perseverance and love became an example to all who knew her.

For many years she lived in Ottumwa, Iowa, where she had the blessing of being close to several of her children and grandchildren. Throughout her life she also maintained a deep connection to her roots, spending time between Iowa and Mexico, keeping her traditions and culture alive.

In her final year of life, Teodora lived in Los Osos, California, where she was lovingly cared for and surrounded by family until the time of her passing.

Teodora found joy in life’s simple moments. She loved watching her telenovelas, enjoying pan dulce with a cold Coca-Cola, and listening to ranchera music that reminded her of home. Above all, she loved food, laughter, and spending time with her family—especially with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Those moments together meant the most to her.

Teodora will be remembered as the heart of her family—a woman whose strength, love, and resilience supported generations. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and in the family she built.

Cremation will take place, and her ashes will be taken to Mexico to be laid to rest at a later date, returning her to the land where her story began.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and eternally remembered.

Her love and strength will live on forever in the hearts of her family. 🤍
