Teddy Shands, a vivid embodiment of warmth, generosity, humor, and exuberance, passed away on June 28, 2024 after a battle with cancer. He was born on January 27, 1951, and spent a lifetime spreading love and kindness to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Teddy was best known for his outgoing personality. His zest for life was contagious and his uninhibited love was awe-inspiring. Teddy's greatest accomplishments lay not in mere material possession but in the rich relationships he had with his family and friends who he considered his most cherished treasures.

Teddy is survived by his loving wife, DeEtta Shands, his daughters, Trish Marsh (Thomas), Nicole Shands, Theresa Stewart, Tonia Cox (John), and his sons, Michael Wallace (Lindi) and Chad Wallace, 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. His love for his family was unparalleled and the beautiful lessons he imparted will forever serve as guiding lights in their lives. His love was unconditional, his generosity enduring. His children are a testament to the values he stood for and the love he shared.

His legacy of kindness and generosity permeated throughout his life and will continue to live on in the hearts of all those who loved him. Teddy's siblings, Linda Jacobs, Jerry Shands, and Terry Decker, are left behind to carry forward his legacy and remember their dear brother.

Teddy was predeceased by his beloved parents, Eva Pope and John Shands, and by his brother, Timmy Decker. His loving memories will shine in their hearts for eternity.

A man who lived his life to the fullest, Teddy's absence will be deeply felt by many. His spirit, however, remains indomitable in the hearts of all those whose lives were touched by his generosity. His laughter, his warmth, and his radiant personality will forever be missed, but his spirit lives on, reminding us of the profound power of love and generosity.
