Ted's obituary
On December 17, 2022 our dear dad Theodore (Ted) Alphonse Bockstael peacefully passed away at the age of 80.
Ted leaves to mourn his beloved wife of 58 years Sharon, daughter Michelle (Greg), son Michael (Sylvia), grandchildren Cole, Nash and Carissa; and extended grandchildren Brendan and Talisha (Mark). Dad was loved and will be missed by his younger brother Allan (Jackie) Bockstael, and many nephews and nieces. Ted was predeceased by his parents Gus and Mary; his two sisters and brothers-in-law: Laura and Ray Duguay, Martha and Tom Cassels, and nephew Jeremy Bockstael, as well as Ted and Sharon's youngest child Marnie, much too early in her life.
Dad worked for CN (Via) Railway his entire career and never let becoming visual impaired stop or slow him down. From bowling to water skiing and fishing, throwing lawndarts at the annual cottage tournament, climbing ladders or chopping wood to build a fire (much to the concern of his family). Dad loved playing cards with the Legion seniors and Pinawa group and his many friends and family. Dad more often than not came out ahead, his last crib game in the hospital was a skunking of Michelle no less. “Teddy’s” favorite place was at the Bockstael family cottage at Nutimik Lake in the Whiteshell. Walking the yard, sitting on the deck yelling “good morning” to those passing by, puttering in the garage, a trip across the bridge to the beach for a cool swim, happy hour’s and sitting around the evening fire with friends and family have created memories that will last forever.
