Taylor's obituary

Taylor Vann Waddell, age 29, of Murfreesboro, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023.

Taylor was born on June 28, 1993 in Murfreesboro. She attended Walter hill elementary, Siegel middle and briefly attended Siegel High school before she moved to Arkansas and graduated from Sloan Hendrix High school in 2011 where she enjoyed playing softball. She came back to Murfreesboro shortly after graduating high school where she was raised. For many years she fought a battle with addiction. We wish she had recognized the beauty and strength that everyone else saw in her. To those who don’t understand addiction, she is just another statistic. You would be wrong. She was so much more.. she was a daughter, a mother, a sister, a niece, a granddaughter, a friend, a cousin, a human being with an addiction. Her addiction told her "I can make you feel nothing and make you feel like everything will be okay." What it didn't tell her was how it would devastate her family. How it would take her sparkle and smile and how it would take and take and take until it took her life. Taylor never wanted to be defined only by her addiction and mistakes, she was so much more than that. She was a beautiful, intelligent person with so much love to give. She was everyone’s best encourager and always rooting for the success of others. She never judged a person in her life and opened up her heart to everyone. We want people to know the truth about her untimely death with the hope that honesty about her death could help break the stigma about addicts, and get people talking about the problem of addiction that is taking away so many young lives. We need to talk and educate the world about this epidemic.

She will be sorely missed and is survived by her brother, Lance Waddell. Grandmother, Mary Livingston. Children: Colton, Jennifer Lea Waddell Hayes. Lifelong best friend, Taylor Colbert and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Tracie Lea Waddell and her father, L.Van Waddell. Grandfather, Dick Livingston and grandparents Iva and Vance Waddell.

A celebration of life is still in the planning stages and will be announced at a later time.
