Background
My beautiful sweet girl, Taylor Elizabeth Phanor, was an only child but an absolute sweetheart with such a joyous and compassionate soul.
She was born on December 29, 2001, at Nyack Hospital in Nyack, NY. Most of Taylor's primary education was in Rockland County New York where she attended Head Start, Margetts, and Elmwood Elementary School. She later moved to Warner Robins Georgia with her mother, and attended Pearl Stephens Elementary, Thomson Middle, and Huntington Middle School.
Taylor had just started her 6th grade year at Huntington Middle school when her devastating accident occurred on the morning of December 5. 2013. She was so excited to go to school because she had a spelling bee that same day. Taylor had studied all her words and was ready for the exam, she couldn't wait. Unfortunately she was struck by a vehicle on her way to catch her school bus. Taylor suffered a traumatic brain injury that left her medically fragile and in a debilitating state. Almost 10 years after her accident, Taylor succumbed to medical complications at the age of 21.
Taylor was always one who'd love to run and jump and play with her cousins and friends. They often went swimming, rode their bikes around the park, or go to different amusement and water parks. Taylor was very active. She loved to sing and dance, loved to play dolls with her cousins, loved to collect bouncing balls from the gum ball machine, and loved to play on either her Nintendo Wii or Nintendo DS with her cousins or her friends or with me or her aunt. Taylor was an individual who also loved to draw, color, read, and loved to write and come up with creative stories. She was very imaginative and had such a creative and visual and vivid imagination.
Taylor was just a joy to be around! She had the cutest, funniest, most infectious little giggle that whenever she was near, you couldn't help but be happy in her presence. If Taylor ever saw you down, she would make a funny face at you to just make you smile or to try and lift your spirits!
My family and I would like to celebrate Taylor’s life and all that she stood for in the best way possible!! This has been an incredibly challenging and difficult process with an unforeseen outcome. We welcome and appreciate any contributions towards bringing Taylor back to NY for her memorial service.
