Taswell's obituary
Taswell “Curtis” Yeager, aged 79, passed away peacefully in his home on January 16, 2026, following a courageous and long battle with COPD.
Born on September 1, 1946, to JoAnna and Curtis Yeager, Curtis was known for his resilience and his ability to adapt to an ever-changing world. His life’s journey took him from honorable service in the U.S. Air Force to the rugged work of cattle yards and welding. Demonstrating his lifelong love of learning, he later pivoted careers by embracing technology and earning a degree in computer science. He eventually retired from a successful career at Time Warner.
Curtis found his greatest joy in his family and his hobbies. Whether he was meeting for coffee at a local cafe, attending Grandparents Day at school, or immersing himself in a video game, he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. In his leisure time, he was an avid reader, a skilled tinkerer, and a passionate gamer.
Curtis was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Lonnie; and his sisters, Hope and Judy.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Beverly Yeager; his children, Todd Yeager, Cassie (Cory) Lewis, Cherisse Georgine, John (Hitomi) McGill, Kelly LaSalle, and Tracy (Brad) Lovan; and his brother, Alan (Jade) Yeager. He also leaves behind a legacy of many beloved grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In accordance with his wishes, the family will hold a private service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial dedications be made to Gamers Outreach, a nonprofit organization that provides equipment and software to help children cope with treatment in hospitals.
