Tanna's obituary

To know Tanna was to know the light and warmth of a sun. Unexpectedly, on July 8, 2021 in Salt Lake City, Utah that sun set on this world only to rise again in the next, welcomed into the arms of her mother, her son and many who awaited her in heaven.

Tanna Elizabeth Greene Cannon was born to Robin and Bill Greene on her Mother's birthday, November 21,1954 in Long Beach, California. The oldest of 6 children, Tanna spent her childhood in Long Beach where she treasured time with her Grandma Betty, spending days at the beach and attending church. In 1971, at the age of 16 she moved with her family to Rockland, Idaho where she graduated from Rockland High School. She traded the beach for the mountains and loved riding horses with her friend Janelle. In 1973 Tanna gained the man she would forever call Dad when Robin married Stephen Wegner. The family then welcomed her youngest brother and only sister.

In 1979 Tanna married her cowboy and the love of her life, Ronald Cannon, and they raised three sons whom she loved so deeply, each uniquely for who they were. She spoke often of their trips to the Oregon coast. The family called several communities home and her generous heart, beautiful smile and big laugh made friends in them all. Whether it be in the small towns of Idaho, the Nevada desert or suburban Utah, Tanna bloomed where she was planted. She loved her Bountiful, Utah church and formed a close group of friends with whom she would share lasting bonds of faith, fun and friendship. For the last several years she and Ron made their home in Malad, Idaho where she cherished visits with her boys and grandchildren, working on her home, visiting with friends and neighbors, heading out on adventures with Ron, creating beautiful earrings and spending time on the family farm. Always classy, with a love for people and beauty, she managed and worked in many clothing stores and salons, most recently with the beloved staff at her sister Christina's Edge Salon.

Tanna was welcomed into heaven by her grandparents Shelby and Betty Watts; her mother Robin; sister-in-law Nancy and son Jason. Tanna lives on through her husband Ron, her sons Tyrell and Caleb (Amy), dad Stephen Wegner, siblings Jon Greene, Mark Greene, Matthew Greene (Son Mi), Scott Wegner, Christina (Lee) Edgley, grandchildren Jaron and Jordyn Greene, and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Tanna loved her family, friends and the Lord with her whole heart. She was quick to praise and made everyone she knew feel seen and important. She shared her faith, laughter and a cup of coffee with many. She gave the best hugs. We will miss her smile, her wit and her love, but she would be the first to remind us that when our own sun sets on this world and rises in the next, we will see her again.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on July 31, 2021 at the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church, 401 N Main N.Salt Lake, Utah.
