Tammie's obituary

Tammie Lou Hitchcock, 58, of Denton, Texas passed away at her home on Saturday, January 8, 2022.

Tammie was born in Slaton, TX on December 2, 1963, to Clella Bee Snyder, and was adopted by her parents, Joyce (Wartes) and Willie Montgomery, around the age of six months. Her sister, Willie Jo Treadwell (Montgomery) would be born just a short time later.

Tammie gained a second father when her mother, Joyce, was rewed to Ronald Neely in October of 1970. She also gained two sisters from Ronny’s previous marriage, Rhonda Harms and Sheila Marler. Tammie’s brother, Ronald (Bubba) Neely Jr., and sister, Pamela Johnson (Neely), were later welcomed into the family from the union of Joyce and Ronny.

Tammie gained sisters, Dana and Merna, and brother, Clifton, when her father, Willie, rewed to Nona Coffman in 1971.

Later in life, Tammie became reunited with biological siblings, Robbie Dorman, Leland Hart, and David Punneo, along with many other biological family members.

Tammie was married to Leroy Hitchcock on June 5, 1982, and had three sons, Casey Hitchcock, Carey Hitchcock, and Codey Hitchcock, from their union. She was blessed with two grandchildren, Katelynn (Katie) Hitchcock, and Jacob Neal.

Tammie later divorced from Leroy and eventually met Kenneth Hakul, who she shared her life with for many years. The two remained great friends until the day of Tammie’s passing.

Tammie was preceded in death by her biological mother, Clella Bee Snyder, her parents, Willie Montgomery, Joyce Neely (Wartes), and Ronald Neely Sr., as well as her biological sister, Debbie Applegate. Former husband, Leroy Hitchcock, also preceded her in death.

Tammie was followed in death by sister, Myrna McCousland.

Tammie is survived by her sons, Carey Hitchcock of Lewisville, Texas, Casey Hitchcock of Lake Worth, Texas, and Codey Hitchcock of Denton, Texas; grandchildren, Katie and Jacob; brothers, Ronald Neely Jr. and wife, Bobbie, of Arlington, Texas, Leland Hart and wife, Kathy, David Punneo and wife, Robyn, of Tow, Texas and Cliff Montgomery; sisters, Pam Johnson, Jo Treadwell, both of Denton, Rhonda Harms and husband, Gary, of Gardner, Kansas, Sheila Marler of Olathe, KS, Robbie Dorman of Slaton, TX, Dana Richardson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.
