Tamela's obituary

Tamela Arnae Davison-Reed, from Ypsilanti, Michigan, passed away August 18th, 2023 at the age of 52, at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego, California from complications from cancer. Tamela was married for 27 years to and survived by her husband Major Reed and their daughters Parris Alexia Reed and Sydnie Ileen Reed as well as Major's daughter Madison Buetikofer.

Tamela held two MBAs in business administration and organizational management and was the Owner of La Soulfood Catering before being diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in 2006. Tamela redirected her business education in 2008 by becoming the Founder and CEO of Rock Cancer C.A.R.E., a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to "filling the gaps in cancer care" by serving the basic needs of patients with a cancer diagnosis.

Rock Cancer C.A.R.E. has served the San Diego community for 15 years and will continue to honor Tamela's legacy by keeping the nonprofit running under the Reed family's direction.

Tamela is also survived by her Mother, Denise Carter, Stepfather, Eugene Carter III, Brother, Kendall Carter and nieces and nephews, Giovanni, Sofia, Simone, and Emperor.
