Eulogy — Cassey Rini
Eulogy: Testament to a great Mother,
by Shane Fox
I’d like to start off my thoughts about our mother, with a
poem read by Cassey…(Poem).
Thank you, Cassey, mother would be proud…
Let’s bow our heads in prayer,
Dear Heavenly Father,
We are gathering today in the life celebration of our
beloved mother. Thank you for bringing friends and
loved ones here to be part of this day to share memories
of such an amazing woman. Dear Lord, I ask you give
each and everyone here today the strength and
understanding in this time of sorrow. May it be filled with
joyful memories and peace. Lord, I ask you speak through
me, and give the words to commemorate our mother
properly and that I may share with grace. In Jesus name I
pray, (Amen).
We are here to honor on this day, Saturday, February
4 th. the life accomplishments and celebration of (Tamara
Lynn maiden name Nelson. Fox and Gerhardt).
[Mom] was a wonderfully kind and beautiful lady. She
was a person of great love and compassion.... Read more Most
importantly believed in Jesus Christ and had strong faith.
Mom was Baptized at Brookwood Church of Christ were
dad Baptized her and her mother. Mom attended the
Crossroads Church of Mansfield and loved listening to
many online pastors as well. She would quote scriptures
and believed them to be so. Matthew 7:12: In everything,
then do to others as you would have them do to you. She
would never judge or speak ill of anyone. Mothers
[Legacy] is her faith in which she generously passed on to
my brother, sister, and I, also to anyone she was in
contact with. Romans 4: Because each of them truly
believed God and obeyed his call, their faith was
reckoned as righteousness in Christ. As a tribute to her
faith mother was so peaceful in her final days. The
doctors and nurses all loved her alike. She never
complained or even asked why. Because of her lifestyle
and teachings and faith, were able to see that she is in
heaven without pain. And I know that she is looking
down on us smiling and waiting patiently for our arrival.
(Marriage and family.)
When she was just eight years of age my father laid eyes
on her for the first time. On the school playground of
hedges elementary. He thought she was cute and told his
mother (you see that little girl. I'm going to marry that
girl someday) …I to called and told my mother of Sarah,
so it was written…
Some time had passed, and dad started going around her
grandmother’s house where mom was raised by great
grandpa Kenny and great grandmother Violet Stallings.
By then she was about 13 and dad was 16 ½. I remember
mom telling us how dad would ride his bike past her, and
he had that long hair and how handsome he was.
When she was 16 and he was 19 1/2 they got married in
1974. Cassey was born a year later than me than Jeremy.
I know they bought a house on Klein I was too young to
remember.
I remember that house on Tanglewood, it seems like
forever ago. I can still see the layout and that shaggy
carpet and rusty, orange-colored couches. I remember
my mom always cleaning I would fall asleep listening to
the sweeper. I remember laying on the floor and drawing
and listening to records with her, for hours never saying
a word. I remember Dad bringing home the Atari and we
would play Pac-Man. (Kids)…You would actually, have to
get up to turn the channel. (So many great memories to
share and here as this day progresses). They did the best
they could for such a young couple, with no regrets.
Flash forwards then there was Jim.
Mom and Jim were married she took the last name
Gerhardt. Jim and his family were a huge part of our
growing up. There was always something to build or
create with Jim. To this day Jim, Cheryl as well as dad and
Jean, all are a part of our lives. mom had no prejudice,
biased or rivalry or ill will in fact all the mothers are more
like sisters to one another. that is another testament to
the peace she lived with.
Mom has eight beautiful grandchildren not so little
anymore Alex, Joey, Mallory, Keaton, Aiden ,katley ,Asher
and Job. Many nieces and nephews. She loves all of you
very much. She always loved listening to stories and
hearing all your success.
(Mom had a special place for her niece Lexi. Lexi, I want
you to know every single time I saw mom your name was
brought up. Mother recognized your beautiful soul, and
she loves you so very much). you are going to do great
things.
I do hope all the pictures of mom and the stories about
her will live on in their memories and in your homes so
that you all will never forget this great woman.
(Schooling and work).
Mom went to hedges elementary. Johnny Appleseed
junior high, and Malabar high school. After raising the
three of us mom later went on to become a licensed
massage therapist practicing the arts of Wellness. She
worked as a medical assistant and office manager. She
could not say enough about what a great employer Mike
was to her (Mike.. you helped our mother in the end
during very hard times and we cannot thank you
enough).
As you all know mom loved her pets. If you were around
any length of time… I'm sure she had shared more than
one of her Tom and Jerry reenactments about her own
pets.
Mom devoted many hours to the arts and she was
known for her awesome costumes my brother and her
would create in the most recent years. I remember
growing up dad and her were once dressed as raggedy
Ann and Andy. She spent weeks making me this little
scarecrow costume for kindergarten. turned out I was
too scared to wear it. looking back at the picture it really
was cute. sorry Mom. She made stitched snowman and
stuffed bunnies. she loved to draw portraits of people
and animals.
In her spare time…. let's not forget her restless
ambitions to paint and repaint every room in her house
five times.
She was (funny) she could make me laugh she could see
the humor in the most serious of situations. she was
(beautiful) she always had her little nice, neat outfits. I
never seen her without her hair done. she was (strong
willed) growing up she always worked two jobs when
needed to take care of us she made sure we always had
what was needed. (Loving) we had our share of struggles
growing up as young families, but there was so much
love I really can't remember anytime that was too
difficult to handle or ever going without.
(Compassionate). As I got older, she was always there to
listen or help in any way she could.
(In her final days as she lay, I witness greatness).
People called who had not in years.
Relatives traveled from afar.
My brother who I had not seen much in years came
home to be by her side.
My sister and brother-in-law Joe, open their home to
anyone who wanted to visit. (Joe you are an awesome
person I cannot thank you enough you meant so much to
my mom and she loves you deeply).
Her friends and family came.
I watched our entire family reunite.
My stepfather and Cheryl came with gifts of loving
compassion.
My father and Jean did the same.
I watched my dad who knew her his entire life, kneel by
her side and feed her tiny, little, bites of hand cut food,
to show his friendship and undying loyalty to her. he
came often.
Brother Jeremy was there in the final moment as he held
her hand, she passed in loving peace.
She loved us all so much, Jeremy you are forever her
baby boy.
We will miss you mother; you have touched our lives
and we will never forget you. You were such a special
person in so many ways and your legacy will live on in
faith and the beautiful memories you leave for us, we will
see you again. (Thank you). Read lessEulogy: Testament to a great Mother,
