Tammy's obituary

We regretfully announce the passing of Tamara "Tammy" (Alford) Starnes, 63, of Henderson, KY. Tammy passed away on March 16, 2024 while visiting family in Spokane, WA.


Tammy was born to Joseph L Alford Sr and Marlene Chaffin Heerdink on December 5, 1960 in Evansville, IN.  An independent and vibrant personality from the beginning, Tammy was an excellent R.N.  She loved to travel and in the past few years of her career was able to travel as a traveling nurse where the stories of her travels were interesting.  Roger was able to travel with her at times. 

Tammy is survived by her husband of 38 years, Roger.  Also survived by her dad, Joseph Alford, Sr (Susan), sisters Glenna Marie Crawford, Regina Miller, Kim (Randy) Gilliam and brothers Tom (Kim) Alford and Del (Barb) Heerdink. She had multiple nieces and nephews as well as grand nieces and nephews she loved dearly.  She was predeceased by her mom Marlene (Del Sr) Heerdink, brothers Joe Alford, Jr and Ron Alford, and her sister Teresa Davis. 

Tammy did not have any human children of her own, she considered her animals her children. 

There will be a celebration of life in her hometown of Evansville IN on April 20, 2024 at 4:00 p.m.  Please RSVP under the events tab if you are able to attend.
