Takisa's obituary
In Loving Memory of Takisa S. Melton
12/31/1987 – 04/7/2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved sister, daughter, mother, and friend, Takisa “Kiki” Melton, who left us far too soon on April 7, 2025.
Takisa was born on December 31, 1987, to Jennie R. Melton and Lockett James Davis. She was the proud granddaughter of Essie Mae Melton and Anthony Melton Sr., and she was preceded in death by her loving mother, Jennie Ruth Melton, her father, Lockett James Davis, and her dear aunt, Angela Melton.
Takisa was a bright, beautiful light whose kindness, talent, and spirit touched everyone she met. She had a heart full of love, a soul full of creativity, and a charisma that could light up any room. She expressed her passions through drawing, singing, and dancing, and she found joy in the music of her favorite artists—Michael Jackson, Avant, Whitney Houston, and the soulful sounds of the blues. She shared pieces of her heart with the world through her art and beautiful voice.
Known for her laughter, unwavering loyalty, and deep love for her family and friends, Takisa leaves behind a legacy of strength, compassion, and grace. She was a source of wisdom and comfort, a hand to hold, and a vibrant spirit who made even ordinary days feel special.
Takisa is survived by her oldest sister, Regina Melton, a host of siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, children, and countless others whose lives were forever changed by her love and presence.
Though our hearts ache in her absence, we find comfort knowing that she is at peace, reunited with those she loved and missed. Her memory will live on in the songs she sang, the art she created, and the love she so freely gave.
She is deeply missed and will be forever cherished.
